Show n Tell began with Bonnie showing a completed quilt called “Science Fair”. She used the Hex N More ruler. The irregular angles on the binding was a challenge for her. She realized bias binding would have helped with turning those points. Beautiful modern quilt!!
Jaynie showed Michele’s project from an online group. The theme for the projects are “From a Tiny Seed”. This collection of fiber art from the group will travel to other destinations.
Jaynie displayed this lovely baby quilt and was very excited to share that soon she will become a Grandma! Not one grandchild but TWO! They are both arriving within days of each other in July.
Jaynie is also doing an online challenge and the suggested theme was “Bubbles”. She used layers of sheer material to create floating bubbles.
“Listening” is the name of this piece. It was inspired by architecture and listening to her muses. We are anxious to hear where this piece of fiber art will go. Wonder which competition it will be going into? It deserves an award!
Shelley shows a baby quilt she created for her grand daughter. She used pink and greens. She incorporated the baby’s name in the center. Lovely!
Christmas stockings were created for her Grandchildren. One has appliqued bunnies and the other has puppies. Lots of room for Santa to fill!
Lydia showed a project she created using dimensional pinwheels.
The next mini retreat will feature the” Twister” ruler and Lydia has brought a project to peak our interest. This project uses 10 inch squares. Jill will be demoing the use of this ruler at that retreat. Then you can play with the ruler at the retreat or do any project you want. It is your day to quilt with great company.
